How to Lay out your Paper
Submission
This must be WORD (.doc) or RTF (.rtf) file and should be sent electronically to CCSR
Your Paper will appear in the conference proceedings and in a future edition of the ETHICOMP Journal.
Paper Format
Structure
Your paper should:
- Be formatted for A4 pages (296.9mm x 210mm - 11.69 inches x 8.27 inches)
- Be less than 12 pages. (4000 - 5000 words)
- Include a short abstract (100 words)
- Contain an introduction that includes an indication of the structure of the rest of the paper
- Include any acknowledgements after the conclusion and before references.
Layout
Your paper should:
- Be in English
- Be submitted in 12 point Times New Roman font
- Be single spaced
- Be left aligned
- Not contain page numbers
- Have margins of 1 inch / 25 mm
- Not contain footnotes
- Use gender-free language
Headings
The following convention should be adopted:
- THE PAPER TITLE (in 16 point, bold and left justified)
- By Author (in 16 point, not bold and left justified)
- 1 Heading - Level One (numbered, in 14 point, bold and left justified)
- 1.1 Heading - Level Two (numbered, in 12 point, bold and left justified)
- Heading - Level Three (in 12 point, bold and left justified)
- No indents to be used
References
References should appear at the end of the paper and the following should be adopted:
- Referencing within the text should take the form [Name, year]
- To give an article/paper reference: Name, A. and Another, N. (1966), The standards of computing in commerce, Business Ethics Journal, 5, 82-123.
- To give a book reference: Name, W. (ed) (1996), The ethics of new generation IT, McDouglas Publishing.
- To give an internet reference: Name, W. (1996), Working ethically on the web, online at www.some.ethicalwebsite.com/paper25/ accessed 03.03.2001
