Information technology (IT) has become an everyday tool. It often takes experts to develop the systems for non-experts to use. So for senior executives the key concern is how to get the best out of IT. This technology affects the way people work - indeed the nature of work itself which in turns affects the fabric of society in which we live. The impact of its introduction and development therefore has ethical implications.

This book focuses on the ethical implications of this new technology for companies. It is written for general management and assumes no specialist knowledge of IT. The issues covered include:

  • IT strategies

  • Systems development

  • Intellectual property

  • Information integrity

  • Privacy

  • Security and computer misuse

  • Structure of organisations

  • Regulation and the Internet

The book contains practical examples of the effects of IT in business life together with useful action points. Indeed it is believed that this is the first book to address computer ethics from a practical perspective and offer advice to senior executives who are faced with complex decisions regarding how IT might be used.

The book costs UK - £20, Europe - £22, Rest of World - £25 (including postage aand package) Copies can be obtained from:
